As much about the experience as outcome, this bespoke package allows all creatives to unlock potential and find freedom in what they do. For those completely new to artistic practice, the retreat provides the opportunity to explore creativity with total freedom in a fun, original way.
Includes two nights accommodation in designer suite, light supper on arrival with welcome chat, 2-hr workshop in the morning, light lunch with guided walk or wild swim and breakfast with an informal round-up chat before check out.
Your exclusive experience with me includes a two night stay with creative workshop in your choice of painting, drawing, collage or sculpture.
Be greeted by me at 4pm on your first day to enter your private suite, relax by your fire or enjoy walking in the surrounding Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Join me for a light supper followed by a welcome chat to set your intentions for your stay.
Your second day includes your chosen art workshop for two hours in the morning, a light lunch followed by a guided walk or wild swim in the afternoon.
That evening is your own. I suggest you walk the short distance across the common to have supper in the local pub.
Your third day, join me for breakfast with an informal chat to round off the experience and to set some intentions going forward, before checking out at 11am.

You have a bedroom with double bed and walk in shower room, small kitchenette, plus the spacious living space with stunning views and log burner.
Nestled in a quiet corner of the Cotswolds at the heart of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, The Hide Artist Retreat is a stones throw from the artistic town of Stroud, a haven for artists and creative activity.
Set in a mature garden, The Hide is two minutes walk from the protected National Trust Minchinhampton Common.
Join me, Alice in my custom-built studio for your bespoke workshop.
I am a practicing artist exhibiting nationally and internationally. My work spans sculpture, installation, performance and drawing.
I am experienced teacher working on fine art BA courses and on adult and charity funded courses.
I have experience in critical thinking and mentoring as well as design skills having worked for fashion, TV and film for many years.
I am the founder and director of The Hide Artist Retreat.

The Old Lodge Pub and Restaurant

All our food is cooked from scratch, using the most local ingredients possible. We’re child and dog friendly, and offer a great range of dietary options from our seasonal menu.

The artistic, market town of Nailsworth is nestled in a wooded valley and accessed by a short steep walk through woods or a 5 minute drive.
Nailsworth is renowned for its selection of award-winning restaurants, pubs and cafes.
Eating out in Nailsworth means you are spoilt for choice. Hobbs House Bakery is famous for being owned by the Fabulous Baker Brothers – Tom and Henry Herbert – and was featured on their TV show.
